Tra i vari lavori svolti quest’anno sono fiera di poter parlare di questa cover. “Il Pepe Verde” è una rivista dedicata agli operatori nel settore della letteratura per l’infanzia e il direttore è il Professore Ermanno Detti, una pietra miliare in questo campo e una persona di cui ho grande stima e un sincero affetto. Posso dire senza ombra di dubbio che senza la sua guida sarei ancora a districarmi fra i terribili ostacoli che ogni illustratore si trova ad affrontare all’inizio della sua carriera. Grazie professore, sempre!
I’m proud to talk about this magazine cover i’ve made this year amongst other works. “Il Pepe Verde” is a magazine for people working in the children’s books field. The director is Professor Ermanno Detti, a milestone in this field and a person whom i have a great esteem for and a real affection. I can say without any doubt that without his help i would have been still looking for a job in the illustration field. Thank you Professor, ever!
Ho avuto quest’illustrazione appoggiata sul mio tavolo non ancora completata per più di un mese…oggi ho deciso di completarla. Non sono né lo stile né il genere su cui sono abituata a lavorare, ma mi piacerebbe comunque continuare a lavorare anche in questa direzione. La mia priorità rimane comunque l’illustrazione per l’infanzia, ma sono sempre stata interessata a fumetti e fantasy in generale. Quando sarò capace di aggiungere più dettagli potrebbe diventare una cosa utile…per ora è puro esercizio!
I had this illustration only half made on my table for over a month…today I decided to finish it.
It’s not the style nor the genre I’m used to, but I would like to work more in this direction too. My priority always remains the children’s books illustration field, but I’ve always been interested in comics and fantasy in general. When I get to be more detailed, it can be of some use…for now it’s just pure exercise!

Eccomi con una nuova illustrazione, sempre alla ricerca di nuovi stili. Ora tendo a non disegnare troppo, per creare l’immagine direttamente dipingendo. E’ divertente e stimolante. Sicuramente c’è ancora qualcosa da perfezionare, ma sono contenta anche solo di continuare a provare perché so che, di prova in prova, non posso che migliorare. Spero vi piaccia!!
I’m posting a new illustration. I’m looking for new styles. Now I’m trying not to draw too much, but to let me create the image directly with the brush: it’s enjoyable and challenging too. There’s still something to improve, but i’m happy just trying, because I know that, illustration after illustration, I can just get better. Hope you like it!!
Aggiungo un dettaglio! I’m adding a detail!
Ultimamente sto facendo alcune prove sulla tecnica. Ho frequentato un corso a settembre con il bravissimo illustratore Svjetlan Junakovic, che mi ha molto sbloccato. Insomma mi ha liberato di certe mie paure. Quando frequentavo l’Istituto Europeo di Design, facevo mille prove, pasticciavo con i colori; ma quando ho cominciato a lavorare sono diventata più precisina e pulita e tendo a fare le illustrazioni con il solo acrilico.
Quest’illustrazione che posto è un vecchio disegno che finalmento ho deciso di dipingere. Ho cominciato con l’ecoline e l’ho aggiustato con matite colorate e acrilici.

Recently i’ve begun to do some research on techniques. In september I attended an illustration class with fantastic illustrator Svjetlan Junakovic, which freed me of some of my fears. When I attended the European Institute of Design I tried every technique, I made a mess with quite a lot of my illustrations; when i began to work, i became more precise, my illustrastions more clean, with the only use of acrylics.
This illustration i’m posting is an old drawing that i finally took the courage to paint. I made it with ecoline and retouched it with coloured pencils and acrylics.
